About Lloyd Mear

The story behind Energy Balancing by Numbers.

A turning point

Lloyd often recounted the day he suffered a heart attack while driving alone in a remote part of Canada. The nearest hospital was 60 miles away. In his telling, severe nausea and repeated loss of consciousness made the journey take six hours. Somehow, he reached the hospital and walked through the doors asking for help.

The questions that followed

After receiving four stents, Lloyd began looking for answers. A civil engineer with more than 20 years of experience in mining, he brought his interest in minerals, isotopes and dowsing to that search. He came to believe that a caliche limestone deposit beneath his home had contributed to his condition.

Lloyd described working with what he called the energy of Indium 125 in water. He reported that his arteries were clear within a month and attributed that change to his experiment.

From an idea to a manual

That experience prompted a larger question: if he believed one energetic frequency had helped him, what might a collection of frequencies make possible? He began developing numerical sequences through dowsing, rather than generating them with a computer.

In 2008, Lloyd and Phyllis created the original Energy Balancing by Numbers manual. It contained more than 2,000 sequences. As the collection grew, new numbers were added to the back of the three ring binder, eventually bringing the total to more than 7,000.

Bringing the work together

In 2014, we reorganized the original typed pages using OCR software, making the growing collection easier to search and use.

Ten years later, the 2024 2nd Edition brought the materials spanning 2008 through 2022 together under one cover. The manual was completely re-edited while preserving the numerical sequences at the heart of Lloyd’s work.

Preserving Lloyd’s teachings

My work as editor and publisher is to keep these materials accessible. Alongside the manual, Lloyd’s original recordings and transcripts allow people to hear and read his explanations in his own words. The online course and member resources offer additional support for learning the system.

Working with the manual

To use the manual in the spirit in which it was created, familiarity with muscle testing, dowsing or a pendulum is highly recommended.
